    • Samsung Galaxy A32 5G Unveiled in Spanish Market (Priced €279)

      alt text

The South Korean electronics giant Samsung has unveiled an affordable 5G handset in Spanish market. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 720 chipset, the new Samsung Galaxy A32 5G sports 48MP quad-camera configuration.

Samsung known for mid-range and flagship handsets has taken a big step to make affordable and budget handsets with decent specs. It is to be noted that both Samsung Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 are decent mid-range 5G handsets.

The latest to hit the market is Samsung Galaxy A32 5G. Retailing at €279, this super affordable 5G handset will take on the offerings of OnePlus, Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo and Vivo. All these Chinese smartphone makers are trying their best to capture 5G ecosystem.

Incidentally, this Samsung Galaxy A32 5G is the cheapest 5G handset in its lineup. It is good to see that the South Korean electronics giant is also contributing to build 5G techno sphere.

      Samsung GalaxyA32 5G Specifications:

Back to the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G, the handset sports a basic 6.5-inch HD+ TFT display (720p resolution) with teardrop notch (Infinity-V) design. Under the hood, there’s an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720 CPU and Mali G57 MC3 GPU.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G smartphone comes in 2 variants including 4/64GB and 4/128GB storage variants. It also gives the flexibility to enhance the internal storage space up to 1TB using a microSD card.

      48MP Quad-Camera Setup:

      On the optics front, there’s a 48MP quad-camera-setup. It includes 48MP primary camera (f/1.8), 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.2), 5MP macro shooter (f/2.4) and 2MP depth sensor (f/2.4). The handset can shoot 4K videos at 30 fps rate.

For selfies and video calling, there’s a 13MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. The handset has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick authentication. The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G boots OneUI 3.0 based on Android 11.

      GalaxyA32 5G Pricing & Availability:

As disclosed earlier, the 4/64GB variant will retail at €279 (₹25K). For an extra €20, one can get the 128GB storage variant. That’s a good deal from Samsung to push the high-storage variant!

The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G looks a decent 5G handset but with low resolution 720p. The TFT with low quality IPS screen is definitely a low performer. Even a cheaper handset Realme Narzo 20A has a better IPS panel with true colour reroduction.

Leaving the IPS screen aside, the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G is a good handset which will face competition from OnePlus Nord N10 and other similarly priced handsets. Will it be launched in the Indian market?

      alt text

We all knew that the state-owned telecom player BSNL is on a revision spree. The latest to get revised is 109 recharge pack. Popularly known as Mithram Plus, this BSNL ₹109 prepaid plan is good validity extension plan.

As per the reports available from BSNL Kerala Telecom Circle, the revision of ₹109 prepaid plan is valid across many circles and it would be effective across India.

Back to the ₹109 prepaid plan, this recharge pack was first launched in December 2019. It offers 5GB data and unlimited calling benefits for a period of 20 days. Post the revision, this ₹109 prepaid plan will offer 10GB data.

Leaving the freebies, this pack has a validity period of 75 days. This helps in keeping the BSNL number active for 75 days without any further recharge. That’s the reason, this ₹109 Mithram Plus prepaid plan is more of a validity extension plan.

      The Alternative PV ₹106 Plan:

However, this double data offer is a limited period offer. It is valid till March 31st 2021. Sadly, the BSNL is all set to remove this recharge pack from April 1st onward. Thus, the subscribers will have to opt other plans like PV 106 or PV 107 that cater similar benefits.

The alternative PV 106 provides 3GB free data, 100 minutes voice calling with 100 days validity. Moreover, it packs free BSNL Tunes subscription for 60 days.

Starting from the day of its launch, this popular plan has undergone many revisions. Earlier, it used to offer 250 minutes voice call benefits and 5GB data with 90 days validity. Later on, this was reduced to 30 days.

Now, this pack has 75 days validity but the freebies benefit is limited to 20 days.

      alt text

It seems the state-run telecom player BSNL is on a revision spree. After revising its postpaid plan ₹199, the BSNL has revised ₹18 voucher in the prepaid segment.

To the unaware, the BSNL ₹18 voucher is the most popular short-term voucher by the data lovers. Till date, it used to offer 1.8GB data per day for a period of 2 days. After revision, the BSNL packs just 1GB data.

      BSNL ₹18 Voucher Benefits Explained:

This revision is reported by none other than KeralaTelecom portal. Prior to the revision, the BSNL ₹18 voucher offered unlimited calling (voice and video), daily 1.8GB data for 2 calendar days. After the consumption of 1.8GB data, the speed gets throttled to 80kbps.

Post the revision, the ₹18 prepaid voucher now offers 1GB data and 100 SMS per day for a period of 2 days. Here also the speed gets reduced to 80 kbps after the FUP limit is reached. This revision will be applicable in all telecom circles across India.

How to do BSNL ₹18 Recharge?

This ₹18 prepaid voucher can be recharged both online and offline. One can perform this recharge on BSNL’s online portal and on all the recharge platforms including Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and more.

Or else, one can approach any retail shop doing BSNL recharge. You can even send a SMS “STV COMBO18” to 123 or apply the USSD code.

      *444*18#

In the present context, data is the new oil. The revision of BSNL ₹18 prepaid voucher will not go with the subscribers. Here, the total amount of data is reduced by 1.6GB data and SMS benefit is added.

Personally, I think the reduction of data is not a welcome move. Instead of adding SMS benefit, the BSNL team should have thought of other revisions.

So, what is your opinion on the recent revision of BSNL ₹18 prepaid voucher ? Share your thoughts.

    • BSNL ₹199 Postpaid Plan Revised with Unlimited Calling (Counters Jio)

      alt text

In a quick revamp, the state-run telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) revised its popular ₹199 postpaid plan. The new strategy will now help BSNL to take on Jio and improve its position.

Though the ₹199 plan seems to be a lower-end plan, it has has got a good approval rate across all the telecom players. With respect to the BSNL ₹199 postpaid plan, earlier (as per December 2020 update) it used to ship unlimited on-net calling and 300 off-net calls in its 1-month offering.

      BSNL ₹199 Postpaid Plan Benefits:

The BSNL has gone ahead and revised the plan as per the current trend and customer demand. Here after, the ₹199 postpaid plan will offer unlimited voice calling to any network within India. Interestingly, this includes voice calling to Mumbai and Delhi Telecom Circles and MTNL network.

Apart from unlimited voice calling benefits, the ₹199 postpaid plan ships 100 SMS per day and 25GB data per month. One can avail data rollover facility up to 75GB. The new revision is effective from February 1st onward.

If one observes the revision, it is a clear attempt to stop the subscribers shift towards Jio. You might be aware that after removal of Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC) Reliance Jio has started offering unlimited voice calls to any network.

Leaving it aside, the latest revision of ₹199 postpaid plan will surely arrest the negative growth by the PSU. With no daily limit of 250 minutes, BSNL’s 199 plan will surely rock the postpaid segment.

BSNL ₹199 Vs Reliance Jio ₹199 Postpaid Plan:

Currently, the ₹199 postpaid plan from both BSNL and Reliance Jio offers unlimited voice calls, 25GB data and 100SMS per day. The positive aspect in BSNL is its data rollover facility that’s lacking in Reliance Jio’s offering.

However, the Reliance Jio ₹199 postpaid plan has a slight upper hand due to its OTT benefits like Jio TV and Jio Cinema where it is clearly lacking in BSNL package. Leaving it aside, the BSNL ₹199 postpaid plan is surely a good plan with basic benefits without worrying about recharges.

So, what is your opinion on the recently launched BSNL ₹199 postpaid plan? Share your thoughts.

Currently, this premium service is limited to existing BSNL Broadband subscribers.

This BSNL Cinema Plus Entertainment bundled pack can be availed by downloading the YuppTV Scope App from Google Play Store. It can be accessed on other platforms including Apple App Store, Android TV and Amazon FireTV.
