In an attempt to bring 4G connectivity to the masses, HMD Global has launched the 4G feature phone under 3K pricing. Though the Nokia 215 4G handset was first unveiled in China, the company has expanded its availability to the rest of the world by making it global.
Along with Nokia 215 (₹2949), the HMD Global has also announced the global launch of Nokia 225 handset (₹3499). Both the handsets support VoLTE network.
They do feature T9 keyboards, long-lasting 1150mAh battery, FM radio, LED flashlight, and microSD card slot for storage expansion – all with an affordable price tag.
Powered by Unisoc UMS9117 processor, the Nokia 215 boots RTOS (S30+) operating system. It supports expandable storage as well.
Starting October 23rd, the most affordable 4G handset Nokia 215 will be on sale on Nokia’s own website. However, if you like to shop on Flipkart, you need to wait till November 6th. Regarding the Nokia 225 4G sale, it would be available from November 18th.
Commenting on the release, Mr Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global, said: “By bringing 4G to the Nokia 215 and Nokia 225 without compromising the accessible price point, we take another step towards our mission of providing low-cost access to global connectivity to those who need it the most – the billions of people who remain unconnected”.
Nokia 215 Specifications:
The Nokia 215 includes essentials like Facebook, Snake game, Crossy Road etc. Moreover, it has ergonomic design including easy to touch keymat and weighs 90 grams. The handset is power efficient to provide 24 hours of standby time.
This is to note that Nokia 215 comes in Cyan Green and Black colour. Whereas a bit expensive Nokia 225 4G handset is in Classic Blue, Metallic Sand and Black colour.
Though one can term it as a feature phone, the Nokia 215 has got all the important features to make it a go-to phone. For an extra ₹500, the Nokia 225 features 0.3MP VGA built-in camera.
