After launching a couple of 5G smartphones, the Motorola Mobiles has got its target on capturing the mid and budget handset market. Launching Moto G30 in the UK, European and Indian markets, the company wants to try in the high volume segment.

Powered by the popular Snapdragon 662 chipset, the Moto G30 sports 90Hz refresh rate and 64MP quad-cam on the rear. Alongside Moto G30, another handset in the Moto G series will test its presence in the Indian market.

      Moto G30 Specifications:

Considering the specs of Moto G30, it can be easily termed as a me-too budget handset. It sports a 6.5-inch HD+ screen with 720x1600p resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. Probably, this is the first time that a budget handset in G series is sporting 90Hz refresh rate.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset, Adreno 610 GPU and 4/6GB RAM. Housing a 128GB internal storage, there’s an option to expand its storage limit up to 512GB using a microSD card.

      64MP Quad-Cam Setup:

On the optics side, there’s a quad-cam setup. It includes 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle cam with 118-degree FoW, 2MP depth and macro sensors. Sadly, the video recording is limited to 1080p at 60 fps. Missing 4K video shots. For selfies and video, there’s an 8MP cam on the front. Moreover, there’s a fingerprint scanner at the rear.

      5000mAh Battery & 15W Fast Charging:

Powering Moto G30, there’s a 5000mAh battery and 20W charger supporting 15W fast charging. Providing a cleaner interface, the handset runs Android 11 out of the box with a little customization.

Connectivity-wise, it supports 3.5mm headphone jack, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C port for faster charging. Though it packs a massive 5000mAh battery, the handset weighs just 197 grams.

      Pricing & Competition:

The Moto G30 comes in Dark Pearl and Pastel Sky colour variants. Though the company has not disclosed the Indian pricing, it will retail at €180 for 6GB variant. Based on this European pricing, one can expect it to be under 15K in the Indian market.

At this 15K pricing, one can surely expect stiff competition from Poco X3, Nokia 5.4, Realme X7, Motorola One Fusion+ and Samsung Galaxy M31s. Unless Motorola gets something best under 15K is nearly impossible to grab the market share with this Moto G30.

So, what is your opinion on the latest Moto G30 handset and its Indian launch? Share your thoughts.
