Reliance Jio has quietly launched the next generation version of its JioFi 4G Hotspot portable wireless router. This will replace the existing JioFi 2 hotspot. The new wireless hotspot device, JioFi 4G, will sport an OLED display with a bigger battery and is on sale through Reliance Digital and Digital Xpress mini stores across India.
Decent Specs with OLED Display:
Interestingly, the new JioFi 4G hotspot is also priced at the same cost of ₹ 1999. The best thing about the new hotspot device is OLED display where it displays information important like battery life, network strength and number of tethered devices via LED indicators. Identical to its predecessor, JioFi 4G portable wireless hotspot supports a microSD card and a micro-SIM card slot. As usual, the hotspot device is pre-bundled with Reliance.
Designed in India Slogan:
You will really love to see ‘Designed in India’ logo on the back of the portable device. Moreover, it is backed by 2,600mAh battery, a bit larger than its predecessor. As per the company, it runs for 5 hours and up to 260 hours of standby. Connectivity-wise, the new JioFi 4G device can connect to only 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices and 1 USB tethering. To be on a realistic side, connectivity to 10 devices is fair enough unless the hotspot device is used for commercial purposes.
Reliance JioFi 4G portable hotspot is available in 3 colours including blue, black and white. Unlike its predecessor, this new JioFi 4G hotspot is Made in Vietnam. Moreover, the rechargeable Li-ion battery pack branded as LYF is manufactured in Indonesia by Panasonic Corporation.
