Vivo V20 Comes to India with 44mp Selfie Camera (Starting at ₹24,990)

The Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has added Vivo V20 to its camera-centric V-series portfolio. Priced at ₹24990, the Vivo V20 sports a 44mp eye focus front camera.
During the launch, Vivo also announced the Vivo V20 SE (powered by Snapdragon 660 chipset) scheduled to be available before Diwali but didn’t reveal its pricing.
Starting today, the company will accept pre-orders of Vivo V20 smartphone till October 19th. And it’s available for purchase from 20th October at all Vivo partner outlets and online stores including Flipkart and Vivo India portal.
Vivo V20 Specifications:
The latest Vivo V20 sports a 6.44-inch AMOLED FHD+ Halo Full View display (1080 x 2400 pixels and 409 ppi density) with a notch up top and a fingerprint scanner underneath.
Calling it as India’s slimmest phone, the company revealed that device measures 7.38mm in thickness.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, 618 Adreno GPU and 8GB RAM, the Vivo V20 comes with 2 storage variants - 128GB and 256GB. It boots Funtouch OS 11 based on Android 11. Vivo V20 is slated to become the first handset to have Android 11 out-of-the-box.
Vivo V20 – 44Mp Eye Autofocus Selfie:
Being a camera-centric handset, Vivo V20 comes with a quad-camera-setup combination. It includes a triple-camera on the front (64mp wide, 8mp ultrawide, and 2mp depth sensor) and 44mp front snapper that can record 4K videos at 30fps.
The inclusion of 44mp Eye Autofocus front camera is the USP of the handset. It packs all the necessary photography features including super macro and Bokeh shots. Fueled by a 4000mAh battery and 33W Flash Charger, the handset easily lasts for a day.
Vivo’s Make-in-India Commitment:
Calling it “Made in India” product, the company specified that all the Vivo V20 units are manufactured at Greater Noida Facility.
Available in 3 colour options (Sunset Melody, Midnight Jazz, and Moonlight Sonata), the base variant 8GB RAM+128GB ROM and the higher variant 8GB RAM+256GB ROM are priced ₹24,990 and ₹27,990 respectively.
Interestingly, the new smartphone is eligible for 10% SBI cards instant discount during Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale. The company has also tied up with ICICI to offer 1500 instant cashback on purchases between October 13 and 15th. Post 16th October, you get a 10% instant discount via SBI cards.
That sounds a good deal. However, there are many options at this price including Realme X2 Pro and OnePlus Nord.
