Indian startup Smartron unveiled the srt.phone starting at ₹12,999. The new phone is inspired by none other than the God of Cricket Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. This budget android device will be an exclusive product of Flipkart and is ready for sale. Sachin Tendulkar who is the brand ambassador of the company is also a strategic investor in the company.

The latest handset from Smartron will be available in two variants. The 32GB internal storage version is priced at ₹12,999 whereas the 64GB variant is priced effectively at ₹14,999. Currently, the handset is available only in Titanium Grey colour whereas it offers Sachin Tendulkar design back covers for free.

Addressing the launch, Mr Mahesh Lingareddy, Founder and Chairman, Smartron India, said, “It is a phone made for the future with Mastery at the Core. srt.phone is a gift from Sachin to his fans, hence, we made sure we have the best possible features to resemble his characteristics.”

      Smartron srt.phone Specifications:

The Smartron srt.phone features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920x1080 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass and offers good outdoor visibility. Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC and 4GB RAM, the handset has 64GB of internal storage. The Adreno 510 GPU will look after the graphics part in the handset.

Optics-wise, the handset features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash and PDAF. The 5-megapixel front camera may not be the best but provides decent pictures to post on social media platforms. The fingerprint sensor on the rear panel is a good addition.

Incidentally, the internal storage cannot be expandable through microSD card. With reference to the connectivity options, the Smartron srt.phone offers dual LTE SIM slots enabled with 4G VoLTE support, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C port etc. Powered by a non-removable 3000mAh high-density lithium-ion polymer battery, the handset supports Quick Charge 2.0 and the battery will last easily a day.

      Touted Android O Update:

The Smartron srt.phone runs on the latest Android N operating system and the company promises one Android security update every quarter. Moreover, the handset is touted an Android O update. By going through the specifications, the srt.phone looks pretty good and a performer just like Sachin Tendulkar. Best of all, the company provides unlimited storage through T-cloud. It will not disappoint you in terms of performance as it is completely designed and engineered in India.

However, the phone lacks the premium feel due to its plastic body shell. Moreover, the selfie camera is not that great. Leaving that aside, the Smartron srt.phone steals your heart with its ultimate performance. Kindly post your valuable feedback.
