Taiwanese Smartphone Maker ASUS to Manufacture Zenfone 3 Max in India

In order to expand its presence in India, the Taiwanese smartphone maker ASUS will kickstart the local manufacturing of Zenfone 3 Max in India. As per the latest information, ASUS will manufacture Zenfone 3 Max at its manufacturing facility in Daman from December 2016.
Make in India Initiative:
Currently, ASUS has around 2% market share of the smartphone market in the country and it aims to increase it to 5% and be among the top four by the end of the next year. Highlighting the decision of manufacturing, Mr. Peter Chang, Regional Head – South Asia & Country Manager – System Business Group, ASUS India, said; “Besides our headquarters in Taiwan, India is the most important market for us and we are constantly looking to strengthen our presence and operations in the country.”
The Indian Government’s focus on ‘Make in India’ will bring the cutting edge products of International companies at an economical price. Starting with ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser, the smartphone maker has locally manufactured Zenfone Go last year in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. And Zenfone 3 Max will be the third smartphone to be locally manufactured in Daman district in the union territory of Daman & Diu, India.
ASUS Zenfone 3 Max Specifications:
To recap, ASUS ZenFone 3 Max comes in two variants - 5.5-inch (ZC553KL) and 5.2-inch (ZC520TL) and sports 16MP/8MP and 13MP/5MP rear+front cameras, respectively. Powered by Snapdragon 430 64-bit processor and Adreno 505 graphics processor is aimed at hard-core gamers. The larger one is expandable up to 128GB and the other one up to 32GB via microSD card.
Based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, ASUS Zenfone 3 Max supports 4G LTE connectivity and is backed by innovative battery technology using the 4,100mAh battery. ASUS Zenfone 3 Max comes in 3 color variants including Gold, Sand Gold, and Silver. The handsets are available for sale at online and offline outlets at ₹17,999 and ₹12,999 respectively.
