The Chinese Vivo Electronics Corp has officially launched its first flagship handset for 2021. The Vivo X60 Pro+ sports a monstrous camera setup, fast Snapdragon 888 5G chipset and the latest OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11.

The newly launched Vivo X60 Pro+ is part of Vivo X60 lineup (consisting Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro) that has got raving reviews. Known for producing excellent low-light imaging, the ISOCELL GNI sensor brings Super Night Mode 2.0 that can work at just 0.01 lux.

Regarding specifications, the Vivo X60 Pro+ sports a 6.56-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Claimed to have HDR10+ and brightness up to 1300 bits, the display is still the best at 1080p.

Powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and LPDDR5 RAM (8/12GB), the Vivo X60 Pro+ uses an upgraded UFS 3.1 storage (128/256GB ROM). The new Snapdragon 888 chipset is 35% faster and 20% more power-efficient than its previous generation. Similarly, the LPDDR5 RAM has reported 16% higher data transfer rate (up to 6,400Mbsp) than the RAM used in Vivo X50 Pro.

Monstrous Camera Setup with 50MP Samsung GN1 Sensor:

As quoted earlier, the Vivo X60 Pro+ sports a monstrous camera setup. It includes 50MP Samsung GN1 primary sensor with f/1.57 aperture, 48MP Sony IMX598 secondary camera with 114° field-of-view, 32MP 50mm portrait lens with f/2.08 aperture and 2x optical zoom, and the fourth one 8MP periscope camera with OIS, 5x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom.

The company says that the optics do include upgraded gimbal stabilization system, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS). The ZEISS logo on the rear suggests a T anti-reflective coating on both sides of each lens. This helps in reduction of reflections in lenses.

For selfie and video call requirements, there’s a 32MP selfie snapper with f/2.45 aperture.

Surprisingly, one can record 8K videos and 4K HDR10+ as well. I guess there should be an exclusive article about the depth of optics presented in Vivo X60 Pro+.

The base variant costs CNY 5,000 ($775/€635) and the higher one CNY 5,998. Currently, the pre-orders are open in China alone on popular portals like Tmall, JD, and Suning.

At this price point, it would be better if it packed wireless charging. Leaving it aside, the Vivo X60 Pro+ retail box packs, the handset, charger, cable, USB-c headset, USB-C to 3.5mm adapter and a clear protective case.
