Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, is all set to increase its footprint in the Indian market. Under its sub-brand Mi Ecosystem, Xiaomi is planning to launch smart home appliances products in India. Mi Air Purifier 2 is the first product to be launched in India on September 21st at an event in New Delhi.
To confirm the event, the company has already sent invitations of the event to the media. This product launch event would be live-streamed on Xiaomi’s YouTube channel as one had witnessed in the case of Redmi 3S. Thanks to the alarming pollution levels, Xiaomi’s Mi Air Purifier 2 is a perfect tool to breathe safe in the Indian market.
When compared to the first generation model, Mi Air Purifier 2 is 11% lighter, compact and 58% more power efficient. If the reports are to be believed, the base area of the Mi Air Purifier 2 is smaller than that of a regular A4 size paper. With 520x240mm dimensions, it offers 406 cubic meters/hour Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) covering an area of 48 square metres.
The beauty of Mi Air Purifier 2 is it can be controlled via Mi Smart House App as it has an inbuilt Wi-Fi module that can be connected to the home Wi-Fi network. The company says the three-layered filter of Mi Air Purifier 2 can remove 99.7% of PM 2.5 particles and produces 10,000 litres of clean air in less than an hour. If you look at the specs related to the noise level, it is the lowest at 30 dB less than that of a bird call in an urban library.
As per the reports, the products launched under Mi Ecosystem brand are built by the partner firms. However, the funding is done through Xiaomi. Mi Air Purifier 2 was launched in China at a price of CNY 699 (Yuan) and one can expect it to be under ₹ 7000 in India.
