The mobile data price war is continuing. Now Vodafone has slashed data tariff by 67% for its prepaid users. Being India’s second largest telecom operator, Vodafone is also feeling the Jio heat. Though reluctant to comment on the price war, Vodafone announced that the price cut will facilitate better data usage making it more affordable.
Vodafone Cuts 4G & 3G Data Rates:
The new 4G/3G internet packs are as follows:
MRP (INR) Current Data Benefit New Data Benefit 449 2GB 3GB 650 3GB 5GB 999 6.5GB 10GB
Similarly, there is an increase of 41% data benefit with INR 39 2G sachet pack - 225MB vs 160MB with 5-day validity. With INR 12 3G/4G sachet pack of 1-day validity, one can now enjoy 50MB vs 30MB. It is to be noted that tariffs and discounts may vary in different circles.
Reliance Jio Unlimited Preview Offer has definitely brought a correction with respect to mobile data tariff. Airtel and Idea are the frontrunners to join the 4G price war. The time has come for the telecom operators to wake up or else Reliance Jio will grab mobile customers even before its commercial launch.
