Samsung Galaxy M02 Unveiled with 5000mAh Battery (Priced ₹6999)

After releasing the Galaxy M02s, Samsung released another entry-level handset in the price conscious Indian market. At just ₹6999, the new handset Samsung Galaxy M02 is meant for first-time 4G users.
With MediaTek chipset, 6.5-inch screen, massive 5000mAh battery and affordable price tag, the latest Samsung Galaxy M02 will surely be a hit in spite of its very basic features.
Samsung Galaxy M02 Specifications:
The Samsung Galaxy M02 sports a 6.5-inch Infinity-V display with HD+ resolution and waterdrop notch. Powered by a MediaTek’s MT6739W chipset and 2/3GB RAM, it houses a 32GB onboard storage. One can expand the internal storage up to 1TB using a microSD card.
On the rear-side, there’s a textured design that gives a comfortable grip to hold this 6.5-inch handset in a single hand.
In the optics department, Samsung Galaxy M02 sports a dual-camera setup on the back. It includes a 13MP main camera and 2MP macro lens in the upper-left corner with LED flash. For selfies and video caling, the 5MP snapper does the work from the front housed in a waterdrop notch.
Backed by a massive 5000mAh battery and 10W standard charging, the Samsung Galaxy M02 boots its own customized One UI based on Android 10 out of the box. Though it holds a massive battery pack, the handset weighs just 206 grams and has a thickness of 9.1mm.
Connectivity-wise, the Samsung Galaxy M02 supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and USB Type-C port for faster charging and data transfer.
Samsung Galaxy M02 Price & Competition:
Clad in Black, Grey, Blue and Red colour variants, the Samsung Galaxy M02 is an Amazon exclusive. Starting February 9th, this budget entry-level handset will be up for sale via Amazon.in and Samsung India web portal.
Though the price of 3/32GB variant is unknown, Amazon has listed the price of 2/32GB variant at 6999 ($96/€80). However, for a limited time, the handset’s base variant is priced at ₹6,799 ($93/€77).
Though reasonably priced well, the Samsung Galaxy M02 will have to fight against the likes of Realme C15, Redmi 9, Poco C3 and the Indian maker’s Micromax In 1b.
