In order to push its sales further, Xiaomi has added Redmi 9 Power 6GB variant to its lineup. The new variant will be available on Amazon India and Mi portal at ₹12999.
To the unaware, Redmi 9 Power was launched in December 2020 with a host of impressive specs including a 6000mAh battery and a 48MP quad-camera setup.
Apart from selling it online, Xiaomi wants to make it through offline mode as well. Very soon, the company is making all efforts to ship Redmi 9 Power through 10000 plus retail stores.
Redmi 9 Power Specifications:
Except for the 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage, all other specs of the Redmi 9 Power remain the same. To recall, the handset sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen. There’s a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the top.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset and 6GB RAM, it housed 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. The inbuilt storage can be further expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.
During its launch in December 2020, the Redmi 9 Power was introduced in 4/64GB and 4/128GB variants. The 6/128GB memory configuration is the new addition.
On the optics front, there’s a 48MP quad-camera setup on the rear. The configuration includes 48MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, there’s an 8MP camera on the front.
There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and the handset supports Face Unlock as well.
The Redmi 9 Power smartphone boots MIUI 12 custom OS built on Android 10. As said earlier, the USP of the handset remains the inclusion of a 6000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Incidentally, the company has packed a 22.5W fast charger in the retail box.
Though the handset packs a mammoth 6000mAh battery, it just weighs 198 grams and is 9.6mm thick. The inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port and IR Blaster makes it a dependable one.
Redmi 9 Power Availability & Competition:
Available in Mighty Black, Blazing Blue, Fiery Red and Electric Green, this new Redmi 9 Power 6GB variant will be up for sale starting February 22nd. At ₹12,999 pricing, the handset is now placed to fight the likes of Poco M3, Realme 7, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Poco M2 Pro, Realme Narzo 20 Pro and Poco X2.
Interestingly, Xiaomi has got good competition in its own product lineup. This cannibalization is not a good sign for the company. Instead, the company should focus its resources effectively.
