Asus, the Taiwanese multinational electronics giant, known for making ROG smartphone series aimed at gamers is all set to launch ROG Phone 5. Interestingly, the Asus has skipped the number 4 in the ROG series.
This “05” branding was much spotted by MySmartPrice probably due to the Taiwanese/Chinese superstition. Even OnePlus skipped the number 4 believed for unlucky death.
As per the latest release, it is confirmed that ROG Phone 5 will be launched on March 10th. The company itself has set up an event page mentioning the launch of the much-awaited ROG Phone 5 smartphone.
If you are particular about the timing, then make sure to get online at 7 PM (UTC+8) in Taipei. The US fans can make it at 6 AM (UTC-5) on March 10.
ROG Phone 5 Specifications:
Though there’s no official information about its specs, the Geekbench has reported it to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 chipset supporting 5G technology. This 6.78-inch AMOLED screen handset will come in two RAM options (8GB and 16GB).
The dual-cell 6000mAh battery with 65W fast charging makes ROG Phone 5 makes it a battery champion. Booting the latest Android 11 with modified Asus skin on top, this is optimized for gaming performance.
ROG (Republic of Gamers) Trivial:
Generally, Asus releases ROG phones mid-year. This is much earlier. Another aspect is the pricing. If one checks the predecessor, the Asus ROG 3 didn’t sell well. Hope the Asus brings something innovative apart from the flagship specs.
As the launch event is just a fortnight away, one can expect many leaks and revelations about the next generation ROG. Let us wait and watch for the best gaming phone of the year. Stay tuned.
