    • HTC Desire 10 Pro Smartphone Launched in India at ₹26490

      Taiwan-based smartphone maker HTC Corporation launched HTC Desire 10 Pro smartphone in India. The handset features a matte finish with a metallic frame. Priced at 26,490 and available in a range of colors including Polar White, Royal Blue, Stone Black and Valentine Lux, the new HTC smartphone will be available for sale from December 15 across all stores in the country.

      HTC Desire 10 Pro Specifications:

      The HTC Desire 10 Pro sports a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM has 64GB internal storage expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. As for camera lens, HTC Desire 10 Pro sports 20-megapixel laser autofocus rear camera and a 13-megapixel selfie camera with a f/2.2 aperture and Auto HDR. It is equipped with ‘selfie panorama’ mode to capture wide-angle photos. The rear camera supports 4K video recording and bears slow-motion video recording capabilities.

      Powered by 3,000mAh battery and built on Android 6 Marshmallow OS with HTC’s own Sense UI, the company claims HTC Desire Pro can deliver up to 19 hours of talk time on 3G network mode and supports 4G LTE Cat. 6. It is one of the few smartphones that supports Band 40 used by some LTE network operators in India.

      HTC 10 Evo Specifications:

      Apart from Desire 10 Pro, HTC Corporation has also launched a premium smartphone HTC 10 Evo with metal unibody and IP57 certification, making it dust proof and water resistant up to 1m. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC and 3GB RAM, HTC Desire 10 Evo will have a 5.5-inch display with 2560x1440 pixels and Corning Glass 5 protection on top. Equipped with 32GB onboard storage and expandable up to 2TB via microSD card, the smartphone sports 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel for rear and front camera respectively. With USB type-C port for charging and data transfer and a 3200mAh battery, HTC 10 Evo claims to provide 23 hours of talk time.

      Apart from Google’s Pixel, this is one of the first phones to launch in India with Android 7.0 Nougat and will be available soon in December 2016.

    • Vodafone Rolls Out 4G SIMs in Punjab Prior to the Commercial Launch

      Vodafone India, the second largest telecom service provider in India, launched a free upgrade of 4G SIMs across all Vodafone stores in the Punjab circle ahead of its commercial launch. Through this move, the company wants to ensure a smooth transition of its 4G SuperNet services.

      As an upgrade offer, Vodafone subscribers will get 4G SIM bundled with 2GB of free 3G data on 4G enabled handsets. The balance would be credited within 48 hours of SIM exchange. Addressing the roll out, Mr. Rajat Avasthi, Business Head, Punjab, HP and J&K, Vodafone India, said, “We have made 2GB of 3G data free for our customers to start experiencing the benefits of 4G and be ready to enjoy high-speed mobile internet services as soon as these are launched commercially.”

      Vodafone India will be launching its 4G SuperNet services on the state of art 1800 MHz spectrum band across Punjab circle. Prior to the commercial launch, Vodafone India is stocking enough 4G ready SIMs and leaving no stone to ensure a smooth transition to 4G services in Punjab.

      Vodafone 4G SIM Upgradation:

      The subscribers can activate the 4G SIM by sending an SMS ‘SIMEX <20 digits new 4G SIM card number> to 55199. Immediately, the user will receive a partial SIM number from 55199. Then as a final step, the subscriber should send the last 6 digits of the new SIM number to 55199 to activate the 4G SIM. The subscriber can even visit the nearest Vodafone store to get the assistance from the support person.

      Starting from Kerala, Vodafone India has already launched its 4G SuperNet services in 9 circles including Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kolkata, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh (East) and West Bengal (ROB) telecom circle. The company is committed to launching 4G SuperNet services across 2400 towns and 17 telecom circles by March 2017.
