Project Nilgiri with Google :

Indian Railways is one of the world’s largest railway networks operating across the country and also has international connectivity with Bangladesh and Pakistan. Starting with Mumbai Central Railway Station, Indian Railways has extended its free Wi-Fi services to other stations including Aligarh, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Kochi, Kolkata, Pune, Raipur, Vishakhpatnam, and Varanasi.

Making railway stations as the centres for free Wi-Fi access has been named as Project Nilgiri. The project employs Google’s Fiber Technology and will be carried out in phases. To recap, Udhagamandalam (Ooty) is the 100th railway station to get free Wi-Fi access at its rail premises under Project Nilgiri.
